Are You Up for the Challenge? Make-up Free Wedding Day

Welcome to our newest blog series entitled: Are you up for the challenge?

In this series I will give a challenge relating to weddings, bridal and baby showers, and other events. I will also give a little information about how to do the challenge.

Of course the challenge isn't mandatory, but after reading about it you may just want to try it out!

The 1st challenge: Going make-up free/natural faced on your wedding day!

I know this is a huge challenge, but it could be fun. Why not show off your fresh face on your wedding day. Alicia Keys is doing a great job at rocking her fresh face if you need some inspiration!

Why would you want to take this challenge on your wedding day?

1) It will save you time

Normally, doing makeup in the morning can take an hour to an hour and a half or longer before your big day. Why not spend that extra hour getting a little more sleep or getting all dressed up in your gown and veil.

2) It will send a positive message

 If you have a daughter or younger girl that looks up to you, seeing you go makeup free on your wedding day sends a  positive message. She will see your natural beautiful face and maybe follow in your same footsteps in the future.

3) It can save you money

You will probably be paying a professional makeup artist to do your makeup for your wedding. That can be a cost you cut out if you go makeup free!

Remember this challenge is just hypothetical! If you want to have your face beat beautifully, that is definitely fine as well! Just remember to love your beautiful natural face too.

Out of the Box Wedding Day Outfit Ideas

Do you consider yourself a non-traditional bride? Are you tired of the usual white wedding dresses? If you answered yes to one or both of these questions, this blog post is for you!

Below you will see a few wedding day attire options that you may have never seen or considered. Maybe you will get inspired and try one out for your own wedding. Take a look!

Colored dress: If you love bold, bright colors, the dresses below may be the one for you. You can choose your favorite color or even a blend of many colors. The possibilities are endless!

Bridal Jumpsuit: Consider yourself fashion forward and very style savvy? Then this jumpsuit is the perfect alternative wedding dress option for you. You will look sleek, chic, and super stylish.

Short/Tea-length dress: Long dresses are so last year! When wearing a short dress it’s all about having your legs out and looking cute, flirty, and fun. Short dresses not only trendy, but also super slimming!

Two-piece bridal set: Consider a crop top or a jeweled bodice as your top paired with a midi or maxi skirt and that makes your wedding outfit! It can save you hundreds of dollars and the 2 pieces can also be worn separately after your wedding day!

Patterned dress: Similar to colored dresses, having patterns on your dress can make for a very bold statement. Choose from geometric prints, floral patterns, polka dots, or stripes. It would definitely look unique and adorable if you and your groom matched your print.  

  

Bridal Pantsuit: This may be the most out of the box option on the list, but should definitely be considered if you are a risk taker. Who says that a suit on a woman can’t look sexy and elegant? If you are more of a tomboyish bride, this lovely style statement will be perfect for you.

Zainab Weds Bayo

Last year on October 24^th, 2015, FTK~Konnect had the pleasure of planning a wedding for a beautiful couple, Zainab & Bayo.


 The colors for the wedding were silver/gray, navy blue, and gold. The decor was simple and elegant and all of the colors blended beautifully, from the wardrobe, to the table settings; even the cake matched!

The couple wore traditional American attire and also wore outfits native to their home countries.

The bride and groom are of course the center of attention on this day, but we have to mention the amazing bridal party and groomsmen as well!

Overall, the wedding was a big success and we wish Zainab and Bayo many more happy moments and years together!

6 Reasons Why You Should Hire A Wedding Planner

Reason #1. You need help making your perfect wedding day vision a reality

You may have hundreds of ideas in your head or you may not have a clue about

Dotun's 40th Surprise Birthday

Last year, FTK-Konnect had the pleasure of planning a 40th surprise birthday party for Dotun Dada! It was an emotional extravaganza that he knew nothing about! Dotun's family knew exactly what he would enjoy and appreciate. An intimate no bells nor whistles celebration...we obliged them and well check out the beautiful pictures below!

As you can see from his face below, when he walked into the event space, he had no idea what was about to take place.

He got very emotional once he realized everything was for him, even shed a tear or two! His sister came from out of town to be at his surprise party. Below you can see the two of them in an emotional and loving embrace.

We tastefully set up the event space with dashes of blue, emerald green, and white. Beautiful centerpieces, customized glassware, sparkling cider, green and blue candies...this party had it all!

May we also mention we had a red carpet which guests had a blast posing on. Take a look at the pictures for yourself!

After posing on the carpet, it was time to begin the festivities. The seating for the guests was very creative, clever and cute. Guests were assigned seats based on their relationship to Dotun in regards to a few of his favorite things.

For example, if the guest was a member of Dotun's church, there was a table specially labeled for them. If he knew the person from playing soccer or football with them or if the person was family, they would sit at those tables labeled as such.

Once the guests were seated, a few of them went down the memory lane and gave us more scoop and their relationship to the birthday boy. Of course, everyone had beautiful and kind words to say about him!

The last 2 pictures are of Dotun's son and wife speaking!

Some words moved Dotun and other guests to tears...Tears of joy all around the room!

After the speeches wrapped up, Dotun was able to cut his gorgeous cake. The cake was green and blue, to fit the theme of the day! 

Overall,  Dotun was super surprised and had a great time! It was a pleasure working with his friends and family.
